45% ENERGY SAVINGS AS A RESULT OF THE MODERNISATION OF BOILERS AND AIR COMPRESSORS

The RUSEFF experts were requested to conduct an energy assessment in one of the biggest  companies producing fabricated wood block flooring, skis, ply-curve articles, wood chipboard and furniture board. The company currently uses a  conventional fuel fired boiler and inefficient air compressors.

The RUSEFF experts gave advice on how the company should invest in a biomass boiler to use their free wood waste to replace the conventional fuel fired boiler which would significantly reduce energy costs.  Additionally they recommended the company replace their low efficiency air compressors with modern equipment and to install three steam turbine CHP’s to balance the electricity demand within the company.

The proposed investment of USD 2.0 million will result in lower fuel consumption and greatly reduced electricity costs which will lead to annual savings of USD 694 000, a payback period of just 3 years and a 32% return on investment in terms of energy savings.
