On October 12, 2011 the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development organized a conference on "The EBRD energy efficiency finance program and its role in modernising the building sector in Russia" within the frame of annual building material exhibition in Rostov-on-Don.
EBRD offers mechanisms for the sustainable energy development in the sphere of office, commercial, trade, industrial and residential building.
Head of EBRD branch in South and North Caucasus federal district Mr. Larionov D. presented EBRD's initiative for energy efficiency development in building sector which includes financing of energy solution optimization, energy costs reduction and modernisation of buildings in Russia.
Chief engineer of RUSEFF credit facility Mr. Kishchenko S. presented the benefits of participating in RUSEFF and gave an outline of the current situation on Russian market regarding the implementation of energy efficiency increasing measures in buildings.
ICF EKO General Director Mr. Sankovskiy A. pointed out the basic governmental incentive mechanisms of energy saving in modern Russia.
The partner bank JSC ROSBANK named the advantages of investing in energy efficiency increasing projects in building sector on ROSBANK special terms.
JSC Center-Invest Bank Mr. Smirnov S. shared an experience in financing such projects in the Russian Federation.
In addition to credit criteria and technical eligibility of the projects, participants have learned about the advanced technologies and energy efficient materials for energy saving solutions based on best practice of similar EBRD programs; the project ideas and proposals were discussed there as well.
